John let Mike take his first solo glider flight. During the flight a girl, Hsui Tai, contacted Mike telepathically and he loses control of the glider. John managed to jaunt into the glider and regained control. The Hsui Tai thinks that Mike is the lost god Kishnu. She tells Matsu Tan, one of the Shansu monks. At the new Lab, Tim could not find any reason for Mike's blackout. Elizabeth contacted John and Mike, she is on a mission for the Galactic Federation. Matsu Tan and the Sage discussed Hsui Tai's contact with Kishnu, they decided that he must be found so he can be re-born. John lets Mike take another solo flight. Hsui Tai tries to contact Kishnu again. Mike manages to keep control and lands safely. Mike remembered the names Hsui Tai and Kishnu, Tim found a newspaper article about them. John and Mike were convinced that Hsui Tai was a Tomorrow Person. Tim found another article that claimed that the Shansu sect kill the Child Gods when they reach maturity, so that they can be re-born into a new body. John and Mike try to make contact with Hsui Tai, but they had no success. Matsu Tan tells Hsui Tai it is time for her re-birth. John and Mike tried to reproduce the conditions when Hsui Tai made contact by flying John's glider. Mike thought he might have more luck flying solo, John said it was too dangerous as the weather conditions were getting worse. Mike sneaked back to the glider and tried a solo flight. The ceremony of Hsui Tai's re-birth started. Hsui Tai made contact with Mike and he lost control of the glider. John jaunted to the airfield. The glider crashed.

Mike appeared in the temple, next to Hsui Tai. John went to the crashed glider, all that he found was Mike's jaunting band. Mike released Hsui Tai before the ceremony finished. John contacted Mike. Mike told him that he was in the temple, and the monks thought he was Kishnu. Hsui Tai picked up the telepathy. Mike tried to persuade her to leave the temple, but she refused and went into a meditation trace. Tim tracked Mike's coordinates, John said he would jaunt there with a jaunting band and a matter transporter for Hsui Tai. The Sage overheard the conversation between Mike and Hsui Tai, and confronted Mike. He told Mike to leave without Hsui Tai. John arrived, and the Sage pulled out a gun, but was knocked unconscious. John and Mike took Hsui Tai back to the Lab. After a while Hsui Tai came out of her meditation trance. She refused to believe that she was not a god. Mike persuaded her to listen to John try and explain who the Tomorrow People are. At the temple some of the monks became afraid and wanted to leave the temple. The Sage decided that they would find Hsui Tai and Mike and complete the re-birth ceremony. John and Mike taught Hsui Tai to jaunt. The Sage told Matsu Tan that they must start the re-birth ceremony for one of the other gods. Hsui Tai told them about the other gods, John said they must rescue them. John, Mike and Hsui Tai jaunted to the temple. The re-birth ceremony had started, but Hsui Tai would not take them to it. In a struggle Hsui Tai took Mike's stun gun. John and Mike found the re-birth chamber, but were attacked, John dropped his stun gun. Mike managed to pick it up and stun everyone in the chamber. John released the child, who ran to Hsui Tai, as she entered the room. She stunned John and Mike with Mike's stun gun. John and Mike were chained up in the ceremony chamber, with Hsui Tai. Hsui Tai asked why John had been chained up as he could not be re-born. Matsu Tan tried to release John, but was stopped. Hsui Tai asked who the ceremony could kill John, but made her be re-born. The Sage started the ceremony, Hsui Tai jaunted back to the Lab, and asked Tim to help. She jaunted back to the temple with two stun guns, stunned everyone and stopped the ceremony. Hsui Tai made Matsu Tan master of meditation, in charge of the temple. All the children had been sent back to their homes.

A boy is knocked down an killed by the driver of an army Major. The boy looks fourteen years old and is wearing a Nazi uniform. John shows Hsui Tai a baby rat that is over 7 years old (rats normally only live to 3 or 4). John explained that he is repeating an experiment the Americans tried where the aging process is stopped before maturity, causing the normal repair processes to work more efficiently giving the subject longer life. Tim shows them a film of Hitler inspecting the laboratory of Professor Friedl carrying out the same experiments in the 1940's. Mike came into the Lab from his cabin wearing parts of an SS uniform, John told him to take it off before going out. Karl Brandt gives a speech to the SS cadets to boost their morale after one of the cadets ran away, the cadets have been in the bunker for 33 years since the defeat of Germany at the end of the Second World War. The cadets look after the sleepers, people in suspended animation. Mike went to a cafe without his uniform, three "Storm Troopers" wearing SS uniforms attacked him for being in their meeting place. Mike returned to the Lab, John bathed Mike's black eye. John told him that there were gangs of young people all over the world that had developed a fascination for Nazi uniforms. One of the SS cadets found some fluid leaking from the suspended animation equipment, they opened one of the containers, but the person was dead. Tim received a call on the special telephone line, Major Hughes from the SIS Special Squad wanted to speak to them. John spoke to him, then sent him a Matter Transporter and brought him to the Lab. The Major told him about the boy being killed, and that the German records showed that he was born in 1930, and should have been 47 years old. The boy also appeared in the film of Hitler in the laboratory. Karl decided to wake up Professor Friedl to ask his advice. Mike went back to the cafe with his uniform on, the "Storm Troopers" were more friendly. They told Mike that they thought that Hitler was not dead, and would return to lead them. John went to the cafe and took Mike back to the Lab. John told him that Hitler is actually called Neebor, a shape-changing galactic criminal on the run from the Galactic Federation. The SS cadets brought Hitler out of suspended animation.

John had a theory that the Nazis used genetic engineering at the end of the war. Major Hughes took some British soldiers from the local military base to look for the place that the SS cadet came from. They found the hidden entrance, Professor Friedl suggested using a weapon called the Sleeping Giant. Tim tried an experiment on Mike, Tim showed him a picture of Hitler that caused Mike to salute him, then showed a picture of Neebor in his natural state. That appeared to break the control over Mike. Major Hughes found the secret door, Hitler then broadcast to the soldiers who then followed his orders. The British soldiers were ordered to kill Major Hughes, but he escaped. He then went to the Lab. The SS cadets had installed a television studio in the radio room, they planned to broadcast to the youth of the world, who would then follow Hitler's orders. John, Hsui Tai and Major Hughes jaunted to the entrance of the bunker, Mike had to stay in the Lab. The British soldiers went to open the door, but John jaunted behind them and stunned them. Hitler, Karl and Professor Friedl went to the television studio, they could only broadcast to a few European countries. John, Hsui Tai and Major Hughes jaunted into the television studio and stunned the Professor and Hitler, Karl came in and force John and Hsui Tai to drop their stun guns. When Hitler was stunned he lost control of his shape changing and reverted to his natural state. Mike jaunted into the room and stunned John, Hsui Tai and Major Hughes. Mike told Hitler to continue with the broadcast. As Hitler started his broadcast Mike stunned him and he reverted to his natural form, breaking the control he had over all the people watching.

A small spaceship crashes into the Pacific Ocean region on Earth causing an Earthquake felt in the Tomorrow People's Lab. The spaceship was deliberately crashed into the Earth to bury it so that it could not be detected from space. Flyn and Sula had escaped from their Thick Ship in a Slim Ship, the Thargon Thick Ship following them did not detect the Slim Ship leaving. Tim thought that it was a meteorite, and located the impact point on the island of Tarpin part of the Melosean chain of islands. Mike and Hsui Tai went to the island. Flyn and Sula decided to raise the ship to the surface, Hsui Tai was blinded by the engines. Mike took Hsui Tai back to the Lab where John repaired her eyes. A military plane spotted the Slim Ship. Flyn and Sula decided to teach the Humans to build a Ripper Ray. The pilot of the plane reported his find to General Papa Minn, the General ordered Major Marcos to take some troops to investigate the spaceship. Just as John, Mike and Hsui Tai were about to return to the island Tim found the Slim Ship and warned the Tomorrow People. Flyn and Sula told Thing, their computer, to tell the Tomorrow People that they were badly shaken up by the crash. The Tomorrow People then went to look for Flyn and Sula. Flyn and Sula told the Tomorrow People that they were on the run from the Thargon Overlords for opposing the massacre of the slaves. The Captain of the Thargon Thick Ship ordered the Ripper Ray to be fired at Flyn and Sula's Thick Ship to disable it. When they searched the ship it was empty, but the Slim Ship was missing, they started a search of all the nearby worlds. Flyn warned the Tomorrow People that the Thargon Overlords would destroy the Earth when they find Flyn and Sula there.

The Tomorrow People declined Flyn and Sula's offer to build a Ripper Ray to defend the Earth. John and Hsui Tai returned to the Lab, while Mike stayed with Flyn and Sula. Major Marcos reached the Slim Ship and knocked Mike unconscious. The Galactic Federation found the two Thick Ships. Flyn and Sula went with the Major to see General Papa Minn. John jaunted to the Thargon Thick Ship to confront the Captain. John was told that there are no slaves and no Overlords on their planet, and that Flyn and Sula were criminals. Flyn and Sula offered to show General Papa Minn how to build a Ripper Ray and use it to rule the Earth. Mike regained consciousness and returned to the Lab, Thing had told him that the Thargon Overlords had re-captured Flyn and Sula. Flyn Sula and the General returned to the Slim Ship. John, Mike and Hsui Tai also returned to try to find out who was telling the truth. Flyn and Sula started built the Ripper Ray. The Tomorrow People were spotted by one of the soldiers, John and Mike jaunted back to the Lab, but Hsui Tai was hit. Flyn, Sula and the General prepared to launch the Slim Ship so that the General could deliver his ultimatum. John and Mike rescued Hsui Tai just before the Slim Ship took off, destroying the island. General Papa Minn forced Flyn and Sula to allow him to broadcast his demands, and to fire the Ripper Ray. The blast was detected by the Thargon Thick Ship and they headed for Earth. John, Mike and Sula jaunted to the Thargon Thick Ship to tell the Thargons where Flyn and Sula. The Thargon Captain fired at the Slim Ship and destroyed it, killing Flyn, Sula and General Papa Minn.
