Angus MacDuff sees a ghost, all of the Tomorrow People dreamt the ghost at the same time. They thought that it might be another Tomorrow Person trying to communicate. Andrew suggested that they could advertise the hotel as haunted to try to keep the hotel open and showed him that he could create a ghost. The Tomorrow People saw the ghost again. Bruce thought that the ghosts were the devils work, and he must not create them again. Andrew then took some packed lunches to the American researchers, lead by Dr. Gail Mayer, looking for the Loch Ness Monster. Andrew created an illusion of the Loch Ness Monster in the Loch, in front of the researchers. All the Tomorrow People saw the monster. The researchers became very excited and contacted the media. The Tomorrow People thought that a member of the Loch Ness research team maybe breaking-out, and when they get excited they telepathically transmit images. John, Elizabeth, Mike and Hsui Tai jaunted to the hotel. Bruce was angry with Andrew when he found out that he created the image of the monster, he took Andrew to the cellar and locked him in.

The Tomorrow People talked to Dr. Mayer about the Loch Ness Monster, but she denied that anyone had seen a ghost. Angus told them about seeing the ghost, Dr. Mayer said that Andrew was with them when they saw the monster. Dr. Mayer tried to find Andrew, but he could not be found. Angus went to the cellar and found Andrew locked up. Andrew created an illusion to frighten Angus into unlocking the door. Bruce tried to stop Angus, but they both fell to the floor injured. The Tomorrow People found Bruce and Angus, John and Elizabeth took them back to the Lab, Hsui Tai checked the rest of the hotel while Mike checked the cellar. Andrew created more illusions to escape from Mike, who was knocked unconscious. Andrew cycled away from the hotel. Angus thought that Andrew might go to a tower near the hotel. Andrew went up to the to of the tower, as the Tomorrow People and Bruce arrived he created an illusion of a band of Scots warriors. The Tomorrow People created a group of Red Coats to attack back. After the battle Mike jaunted to the top of the tower and persuaded Andrew to join them. Bruce allowed Andrew to create ghost illusions at the hotel to attract visitors.

A small spaceship is heading towards Earth, but hits the disused Spacelab. Tim detects the collision as it is being used as a Watchdog Satellite. John, Mike and Elizabeth jaunted to investigate. Glip pilot of the spaceship, a Hiter Taxi, stabilised the craft. Yagon, one of the passengers, told Glip and Cantor, the other passenger, that they were going to mine Barlumin from a shaft near Loch Ness so that he could put it into a Photonic bomb. When exploded the Barlumin would be spread around the galaxy inhibiting all telepathic abilities. Andrew and Hsui Tai went to Andrew's father's hotel, Hsui Tai was booked to sing, while Andrew was going to create a ghost. Yagon and Cantor Matter Transported to Loch Ness near the hotel. While booking them into the hotel Andrew touched Yagon ring that contained Barlumin, it knocked him out briefly. Yagon and Cantor became suspicious the Andrew was a Galactic Federation agent. When Andrew tried to create a ghost he found that all his telepathic abilities had stopped. John, Mike and Elizabeth stopped the Watchdog Satellite spinning, and made it operational again. Tim started a search for the spaceship. In the morning Yagon and Cantor set out to find the mine shaft. Andrew found that he telepathic abilities had returned, he then followed Yagon and Cantor. Yagon and Cantor found the mine shaft and the seam of Barlumin and set up an extractor beam. Andrew followed them down the mine shaft, while he was watching the seam exploded and knocked Andrew out.

Tim found the spaceship in stationary orbit above Central Scotland. Hsui Tai became worried when Yagon and Cantor returned, but Andrew did not, she also found that she could not contact him telepathically. John, Mike and Elizabeth jaunted to the spaceship just before Hsui Tai returned to the Lab. Andrew regained consciousness, but all his telepathic abilities had gone. John, Mike and Elizabeth jaunted inside the spaceship. Glip told them that he was waiting for spares. Hsui Tai went to challenge Yagon and Cantor. Yagon stunned Hsui Tai with some Barlumin. Yagon contacted Glip, who warned him that there were Galactic Federation agents on board. Yagon and Cantor Matter Transported up to the spaceship with a Barlumin container open, this stunned John, Mike and Elizabeth. Yagon decided to explode the ship's Photonic Drive to spread the Barlumin. Andrew returned to the hotel, he and his father went to Yagon and Cantor's room, but they had gone, they found Hsui Tai. Yagon and Cantor tied up Glip as they planned to leave him on the ship when it explodes. Andrew telephoned Tim, who sent them two Matter Transporter Bands to take them back to the Lab. Tim Matter Transported Hsui Tai and Andrew directly into the spaceship. Yagon tried to stun them, but the Barlumin had no more effect on them, he then tricked them into giving him their stun guns. Yagon and Cantor tied them up before leaving in the escape pod. Andrew managed to pass his knife to John who cut him free. Andrew then stopped to engines overloading under the direction of Glip. Yagon and Cantor were captured and sent to a rehabilitation centre. Glip was given a Vectar class spaceship in recognition of his help.

Elizabeth, Mike and Hsui Tai take Andrew to buy some clothes, Mike and Hsui find some of the new Bubble Skin jump suits. Wilton, the shop owner goes into the basement where he reports to some bubble like aliens, they order him to go to the landing place. Elizabeth, Mike, Hsui Tai and Andrew jaunted back to the Lab, to show John the clothes, he stayed in the Lab as he had a cold. Elizabeth, Mike and Hsui Tai had bought Bubble Skin jump suits, Mike and Hsui Tai went to put them on. Wilton took a lorry to the landing place where another group of bubble aliens were arriving from space. After Mike and Hsui Tai put the Bubble Skin jump suits on they started behaving strangely, they jaunted out of the Lab, John became very worried. Wilton asked to bubble aliens to make more suits. John, Elizabeth and Andrew started analysing the Bubble Skin fabric. They found that in some ways it was living matter and in others like plastic, when it was cut it rapidly repaired itself. Mike and Hsui Tai returned to the shop and bought another Bubble Skin jump suit for John, they then jaunted back to the Lab. When they were told to take to jump suits off they tried to leave the Lab, but John stunned them. John and Elizabeth they tried to remove the Bubble Skin jump suits from Mike and Hsui Tai, they found that they were stuck to their skin. Tim stimulated Mike's antibodies which then attacked the Bubble Skin and destroyed it, when they tried Hsui Tai it was much more difficult as if the Bubble Skin was able to learn and fight back, eventually it worked. John and Elizabeth went to the shop to investigate, Andrew stayed behind to look after Mike and Hsui Tai. Wilton took John and Elizabeth to the basement and pushed them into the Bubble aliens. In the Lab the two Bubble Skin jump suits attacked Tim and Andrew.

Mike woke up and went into the Lab and pulled the Bubble Skin jump suit off Andrew, Andrew then stunned them. John and Elizabeth had been taken over by the bubble aliens, they jaunted back to the Lab. They tried to make Andrew wear a Bubble Skin jump suit, Mike stunned John and Elizabeth. Tim tried to remove Elizabeth's jump suit, but it did not work. Hsui Tai found that John's jump suit was not stuck to him, so they removed it. John thought that his cold might have stopped the Bubble Skin jump suit joining to him. The bubble aliens decided to stop hiding and to openly attack people. John injected Elizabeth with some of him cold virus, the Bubble Skin jump suit broke its bond and left Elizabeth, Mike then stunned it. Tim told them that the bubbles had come out into the open all over the world. The Galactic Federation told Tim that the bubble aliens are known a Ballboids, and are a parasite that attacks life forms on planets by wrapping themselves around them and digesting them. John and Mike jaunted to a warehouse to get some cyclinders to try to infect the world with John's cold. They returned to the Lab, Elizabeth, Hsui Tai and Andrew had been culturing the cold virus, and magnetising them so that they could be sent released into space and would be pulled towards the Earth. John and Mike jaunted to various satellites to fix the cyclinders and release the virus. Everybody started to get colds, and their bubble skins left them and went into space.
