Tarpin

A small uninhabited island in the Melosean chain of islands in the Pacific Ocean. A Thargon Slim Ship landed on the island.

Telekinesis

The ability to move objects by thought, without touching them. With practice telekinesis can be used to repair broken objects and heal major injuries. 

When the Tomorrow People use telekinesis a green glow can usually be seen coming from their hand to the object being acted on.

Telepath

A being that possesses telepathic abilities.

Telepathic

A general term used to describe a being or race that possesses telepathic abilities.

Telepathic Abilities

The generic name for the extra abilities that telepaths possess. The include telepathy, teleporting and telekinesis.

Telepathic Research Project

This project was set up by the British Ministry of Defence to investigate telepathic abilities. They are based at the Experimental Weapons Establishment, and are lead by Colonel Masters. Their main aim is to find ways to use telepathic abilities for attack or espionage. 

Although they report to the government, the Prime Minister does not know all of their activities.

Telepathy

The ability to communicate with another telepath across large distances, without any equipment.

Teleport

The ability to move instantaneously from one place to another by thought. Only telepaths like the Tomorrow People can do this. Non-telepaths like the Saps can not teleport, but can use a matter transporter.

The Tomorrow People can teleport unaided over a few miles. If they need to teleport larger distances they use a jaunting belt or band.

Temple of Shansu

The secret location of the Shansu sect. The Child Gods are kept within the temple until they reach maturity. Each god has a separate shrine, where they spend most of their time. There is also a chamber used for the re-birth ceremony.

The Sage is the master of meditation, the leader of the monks at the temple.

The Sanctuary

A hostel for homeless boys run by Father Martin O'Connor, at 28, Owens Road, Shepards Bush. Stephen used the hostel as a cover so that Colonel Masters could kidnap him.

Thick Ship

Thick ShipThe main type of space ship used by Thargons. The ships are used for interstellar travel and are often armed. They carry Slim Ships for landing on planets.

Thing

ThingA Thargon computer. They can operate on Thick Ships or Slim Ships, they can control the ship, sensors as well as communicate verbally. They are capable of lying if instructed to by the people controlling them. The visible interface is a small puppet sized head and body with a mouth. They are able to communicate with their controllers via a device similar to a radio, without alerting anyone near the visible interface.

Tickling Boots

A device used to control the male inhabitants of the Ship. The man is fitted with boots that can not be removed. The woman, normally the man partner, wears a bracelet that controls the boots. If the woman needs to discipline the man she activates the boots via the bracelet, and the boots tickle the feet of the man. Normally the threat of the tickling is enough to make the man obey the woman's orders.

Time Disk

Time DiskA device used by the Guardians of Time to access the Time Lanes.

Peter placed a Neutron Interton Diagram for a primitive Time Disk on the lid of the Gladiator Vase. Tim and John built the disk from the diagram. The disk had been configured to active only when one of the Tomorrow People the Peter knew touched it. Stephen was the first one to touch the disk, it took him to the hall of the Time Guardians. Zenon gave him several Time Disks to take back to the Lab.

Time Lanes

Routes that exist between different time periods. They can be used to travel backwards or forwards in time. A Time Key or Time Disk is required to use the Time Lanes.

Time Key

A device used to gain access to the Time Lanes. The Time Key can be programmed to open Time Lanes to any time and place. To prevent accidental, or deliberate, tampering with history Time Keys can only be controlled by telepaths, they have kinetic seals to prevent non-telepaths from opening the equipment. The Time Key was invented in the 23rd century.

Time Pump

A crude and destructive method of time travel. When operated is causes a large explosion destroying an area around the pump.

Time Trap

The Time Trap is used by the Guardians of Time to capture unauthorised use of the Time Lanes. When caught people can be held for the rest of their natural life.

Time Warp

A disturbance in time caused by someone travelling into the past and changing events. This then leads to a different (or parallel) present and future.

Tim's Box

Tim's BoxA small box that can be taken away from the Lab and provides communication with Tim.

Tim designed the box. It uses a method similar to jaunting to allow communication between Tim and the box. It needs an external power source to allow it to operate.

Tomorrow People

Tomorrow PeopleThe name used by the first telepaths on Earth. Very few people on Earth are aware of the existence of the Tomorrow People.

Trig

Slang term for the Galactic Trig.
